Östergötland Music Days 2011:

For the eighteenth consecutive year we enjoyed beautiful chamber music, mellow jazz, expressive singing and children’s concerts in a program designed by our

Artistic Director, Staffan Mårtensson.

We met some of Sweden’s foremost artists, in concert halls, museums, churches and castles: Staffan Scheja, Karl-Magnus Fredriksson, Peter Getz, the Vlach Quartet of Prague, Steffo Törnquist, Semmy Stahlhammer, Katarina & Markus Leoson, Östgöta Symphonic Wind Band.

We heard lots of expressive music by our Composer of the Year, Johan Ullén. He gave us a new touching work, Dream of Sorrow for clarinet and string quartet, which was premiered on the final concert. And he performed at the piano, not least in a spectacular last-minute substitution with the Vlach Quartet in Dvorak’s Piano Quintet.
